Mutual Information based Pilot Design for ISAC

This work derives pilot signals for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems using a mutual-information criterion. The proposed design jointly maximizes the information-theoretic quality of channel estimation and target sensing, yielding gains in both detection probability and channel capacity over conventional pilots.
