Multi-functional RIS for a Multi-functional System: Integrating Sensing, Communication, and Wireless Power Transfer
Published in IEEE Network, 2025
This work proposes a multi-functional reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) architecture that simultaneously supports sensing, communication, and wireless power transfer (WPT). The design exploits the controllable propagation environment afforded by the RIS to share spectral and spatial resources across all three functions, demonstrating the multi-faceted utility of RIS for next-generation integrated wireless systems.
