Layered Chirp Spread Spectrum Modulations for LPWANs

This paper introduces layered chirp spread spectrum (CSS) modulation schemes tailored for low-power wide-area networks (LPWANs). By layering chirp components, the proposed waveforms achieve higher spectral efficiency than conventional LoRa-style CSS while preserving the low-complexity demodulation that makes CSS attractive for LPWAN deployments.
