On Maximum Likelihood Angle of Arrival Estimation Using Orthogonal Projections
Published in ICASSP 2018 - IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2018
This paper reformulates the maximum likelihood angle-of-arrival (AoA) estimator using orthogonal-projection operators on the array manifold. The reformulation yields a computationally tractable approximation of the ML estimator that retains its statistical efficiency in moderate-to-high SNR regimes.
